An excellent blog by PhD candidate Matt Candeias. Emphasis on the evolutionary histories and biological networks in and around plants, but approachable!

Thayer, Samuel The Forager’s Harvest: A Guide to Identifying, Harvesting, and Preparing Edible Wild Plants
Guide for identifying and preparing wild plants in the US. Small snippets of history and a great voice make this an truly enjoyable read.
